| Q: |
I have NativeCOM configured on all the ports. Why can't I login to the serial ports any more with a terminal or Hyperterminal? |

| A: |
When you configure a port on the port server for NativeCOM it changes the configuration on the unit. It makes the following changes:
- deletes the default service on the port (i.e. the login prompt)
- sets up reverse telnet to run on the port
- set "ignoredcd" on the port
- sets the port owner and port description (information-only variables)
So, once you have configured a port for NativeCOM, you can no longer login through the serial port. In order to reenable the default service on the port you will need to use the browser interface and set the Custom Configuration to default or use the telnet command - set default.
