I pressed the reset button to restore the default configuration on the unit but it did not restore. How do I restore the factory default configuration? |

On port servers with firmware versions 06C or earlier, the reset button does not restore the default configuration. It reboots the unit into what is called the "firmware monitor". To access the firmware monitor, you must attach a terminal (at 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity) or a null modem cable and a terminal emulator on a PC, to the first port on the unit. You will get a menu of options. Select "r" for restore default configuration.
On port servers with firmware versions 06D or later, the default configuration can be restored by using only the reset button. Press and hold the reset button. The status LED will begin blinking alternately red and yellow. Continue to hold the reset button depressed until the status LED blinks alternately green and yellow (about 5 seconds). Release the reset button and the port server will reboot with the default configuration restored. If you release the reset button before the status LED blinks green/yellow (while it is still blinking red/yellow), the "firmware monitor" will be started.
