Q: How do I use Tranax RMS with the IPG?

A: Using Tranax RMS (or Trans RMS) on an IPG with a Dial Backup port

The following procedure sets up Trans RMS to work with with an IPG-75xx. Trans RMS will dial the phone number that's attached to the IPG DBU modem port, and the IPG will route this to correct port that the ATM is on.

This requires version 02C.24 or later.

Set up the dial backup port to route RMS to the terminal port.
  • Go to Port Services • Select Modem at the top of the page
  • Header on page should be Port Service Settings for Modem
  • Select Outgoing network connection
  • Set the Destination Hostname/IP Address from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1 is "localhost"... a generic way to refer to the unit itself)
  • Set the Destination TCP Port to 8003 (for Terminal Port 1) • Leave the other settings the same, then scroll down and Save Changes

To configure the filter for RMS:

    Go to Protocol Settings
  • In the Select Peer to Edit box, highlight the 127.0.0.1:8003 host
  • In the Non-Secure column, select "Converted POS Protocols"
  • Scroll down and select "Tranax RMS Conversion"
  • Leave the remaining values the defaults
  • Click Save Changes

Now plug the IPG dial backup (modem) port into the phone wall jack and set up RMS to dial this number.
