How do I set up my IPG to do a PPP?

PPP Setup On The IPG Set up PPP for DBU Go to PPP Settings
- (PPP0 is selected by default)
- Select Outgoing PPP
- Select Modem for the port
- Enter the phone number, username and password
- If you want the connection to stay up all the time when the Internet is down, leave Inactivity timeout 0. Otherwise, specify when you want it to hangup.
- Leave Chat script and Advanced options default
- Click Save Changes
If you have a secondary number to access the ISP, select PPP1 and set it up with the second number. On the PPP page, under Network backup
- Select the Primary Backup device as PPP0
- If you configured PPP1, set it as the Secondary
- You can leave the default Check Peers
- Click Save Network Backup
In case we do need to do some diagnostics, please set up logging in the unit: Go to Log Files and Settings
- Check the Modem port
- Check Serial events and TTY Events
- Check Service events and PPP events
- Click Apply Changes
To view the log, go to System Log in the menu. Or click "save" next to System Log in the menu to save to a file to send to us for analysis.
