I have a Systech Network Device Server (RCS, POS, NPS, NDS or iNS/ixNS series) on a remote network behind a firewall. What do I need to open in the firewall to use it with NativeCOM? |

You will need to open the following ports in the firewall at the port server end in order for NativeCom to access the unit.
- TCP port 6543
- UDP port 9098
- TCP port 23 - used to telnet to the unit.
- TCP port 9001-9016
- ICMP protocol - used to ping the unit.
You will need to open the following ports in the firewall at the pc end in order for NativeCom to access the unit.
- ICMP protocol - used to ping the unit.
Now, install the port server as described above for a remote network.
- Setup our port server on the remote network with an available IP address. Be sure to set up a route in the unit as described in the remote network section.
- Install the NativeCom software on your pc. You can get the latest version from our website http://www.systech.com.
- Verify that you can ping/telnet the port server from the pc.
- Now add the com ports to your system the same as you would on a remote network without a firewall.

• start/programs/nativecom/nativecom configuration utility.
• select single or multiport add.
• click add unlisted systech port server.
• enter ip address of the port server.
• add ports. |
